Top 3 Parent App Tips

The Canvas Parent App enhances the potential for parents to engage in their children's education. Check out our top tips for setting up and using your Canvas parent observer account.

TIP # 1: View Courses

The default view shows the course list and current grade.

Tap the course name for more detailed information.

TIP # 2: View the Calendar on the app!

The app allows you to see events and assignments for one student at a time.

Multiple dots indicate multiple assignments or events.

Select the assignment to Set Reminder.

TIP # 3: Set Alerts!

Manage alerts for your linked student(s) including:

Course grades, missing assignments, assignment grades, and announcements

Go to Manage Students > select student > adjust alerts

Then, view alerts

Click "Next" to continue ⬇︎
